NBA DFS Pick’Em Strategy on Nov. 16 – 2017

Only 2 games to pick from tonight, but 3 of the 4 teams are loaded with fantasy talent. I took Joel Embiid in my DFS draft last night and he scored 90+ points. Let’s see if we can pick out some similar gems for tonight’s matchups. Tier 1: Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving My Choice: Kyrie Irving, PG, BOS Boston’s defense is legit; they have the 2nd best defensive rating relative to league average since 1976. Jump shooters are just 16 for 51 from behind the three-point line against Read More

NBA Rookie Power Rankings

With 4 weeks of the NBA season in the books, we’ve had enough of a sample size to take stock of the rookies so far this year. Ranking rookies is always tough since some are thrust into starting roles, while others are able to ease into things off the bench. Some are on contenders, surrounded by stars, and others are not. Here’s a reminder of the top 5 picks from this year’s draft: 76ers: Markelle Fultz (G) - Washington Lakers: Lonzo Ball (G) - UCLA Celtics: Jayson Tatum (F) - Read More

Players to Target in NBA DFS on Nov. 13 – 2017

Kevin Durant, SF/PF, GS ($9,700) Durant filled up the stat sheet on Saturday with 29 points (11-18 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks against the 76ers. Durant is cheaper than both the twin towers from New Orleans and with Steph Curry unlikely to play tonight that means Durant will do most of the heavy lifting for the Warriors. Ben Simmons, PG/SF, PHI ($8,500) Patrick Beverly is out for tonight’s game which should open up passing and driving lanes for Simmons. Read More

NBA DFS Basketball Value Picks– Nov. 11, 2017

The Studs Kristaps Porzingis, PF/C, New York Knicks ($9,400) The Unicorn is still technically questionable for Saturday's game against Sacramento, but the fact that he went through full practice on Friday and Jeff Hornacek expects him to be ready is an encouraging sign. Porzingod is an absolute fantasy beast this season, topping the 50-FP plateau in half of the 10 games he's played. Jeff Teague, PG, Minnesota Timberwolves ($6,800) Since Porzingis already had the bulk of the salary, you can Read More

NBA DFS Players to Avoid on Nov. 9 – 2017

Lonzo Ball, PG, LAL ($6,000) Lonzo totaled 9 points, 6 assists and 4 blocks in 39 minutes last night against the Celtics. Lonzo was clearly overmatched by Kyrie Irving, and I bet having to chase Irving around all night contributed to his poor performance on offense. He was just 1-5 from 3-point range, and most of his points came on floaters in the lane, or on aggressive drives to the basket while the Celtics were getting back on defense. Obviously, tonight will be his second game in as many Read More

Pick’Em DFS NBA Strategy for Nov. 8 – 2017

Tier 1 Steph Curry, PG, GSW Talk about a tough choice. This tier makes us choose between Kevin Durant, Karl-Anthony Towns, Kyrie Irving and Curry. You really can’t lose here, but I like Steph Curry’s chances of taking advantage of the Wolves’ guards tonight. Minnesota ranks 29th against opposing point guards, and Curry is due for a big game. Steph is averaging just 19.7 PPG in November, but I think Minnesota’s focus will be on stopping Durant and Draymond Green from driving to Read More

NBA DFS Basketball Best Value Picks– Nov. 8, 2017

NBA DFS Basketball Best Value Picks-- Nov. 8, 2017 The Studs Kyrie Irving, PG, Boston Celtics ($8,800) Kyrie has been amazingly consistent all year and has just dropped his first 50-FP game of the season against Atlanta. He is ranked second only to Steph Curry in terms of FPPG at the point guard position on Wednesday's slate of games on $500 less. Plus, we know how Irving loves the spotlight on big games and the rivalry outing against the Lakers exactly fits the bill. Andre Drummond, C, Detroit Read More

Players to Target in DFS Basketball on Nov. 7 – 2017

Giannis Antetokounmpo, SF, MIL ($10,800) You don’t need me to tell you that Giannis is having a breakout season, and that he’s an incredible pick for DFS. His cost ($10,800) is the highest of the night, but I think he’s worth it and here’s why: He’s hot right now, coming off 29 points (13-27 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 4 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 assists on Friday. He’s had a lot of rest over the long weekend and he’ll be ready to go. He’s playing the Cavs tonight. As I mentioned Read More

Surprises of the NBA Eastern Conference so Far this Season

The Boston Celtics’ Success without Gordon Hayward After all the hype and anticipation, it was devastating to see Gordon Hayward go down with a season-ending injury just 5 minutes into the season. The Celtics looked devastated and it showed early on, falling to 0-2 on the season. Since then, they’ve won six straight and the young team seems to have developed something special. With Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown all a year older and more developed, this is one of the deepest teams Read More

5 Early Season Fantasy Basketball Buy Low/ Sell High Targets

The trademark of a poor fantasy owner is impatience. It just happens well too often-- his better players start out slow and starts to put them on the trading block. If you see someone like that in your league, you better watch out if one or more of these players are on his team and you may want to part some of your overachieving ones as well. Here are some early season fantasy basketball buy low/ sell high targets: 1. Trevor Ariza, SG/SF, Houston Rockets (Buy Low) Ariza has been playing the Read More
